one of my primary interests to travel to vienna is the zentralfriedhof or the central cemetery. it is one of the largest in europe and most famous cemetery among vienna's nearly 50 cemeteries. buried in the zentralfriedhof are notables musicians such as beethoven and schubert who were moved there in 1888. Though mozart's body is in a mass grave in another cemetery – his memorial is also located here with the others. It took some time to go to the zentralfriedhof from vienna down town, but it is indeed worth the trip. some japanese tourists beat me first at beethoven's grave. while each of ten of them took picture beside the grave, i had to make a detour to around the areas but took many interesting pictures of other people's graves. the cemetery was indeed very huge ... but sign boards are every where, so you won't get lost. still, it's creepy if you wander just by yourself ... considering these graves are more than hundred of years old ...
p.s. many thanks to my dear friends; essy and matthias mostl (
